Atlantic City “Grand Closing” Underway
Showboat and Revel close with over 5,000 jobs lost 

This Labor Day weekend saw the closing of two of Atlantic City’s iconic casinos, and the loss of over 5,000 jobs.

The Showboat closed on Sunday, August 31 taking with it nearly 2,100 jobs. The Revel closed in the early morning hours of Tuesday, September 2 and over 3,000 jobs were lost.

The Trump Plaza will also close on September 16.

A total of over 8,000 jobs will be lost in Atlantic City by the end of September.
