Connecticut v. Massachusetts “economic border war’ reminds us that “Gambling Creep” is alive and well

In case you have missed the ongoing saga of the “economic border war” between Connecticut and Massachusetts (latest story here), here is a quick recap:

The Native American tribes that are the owner of the Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun casinos are concerned that a new casino being planned just over the border in Massachusetts will pilfer customers from their casino. In turn, they are asking CT officials to build two new smaller facilities (that they will jointly operate) on their side of the border.

All of this reminds us that gambling expansion often begets more gambling expansion. We call it “Gambling Creep” and it is the subject of one of our videos.

Take a few minutes to watch (or re-watch) this video and see how “Gambling Creep” took place in Florida.
